The rustling of grasses on the dunes, the glint of sunshine shimmering on the waves, and the tang of salt spray in the cooling breeze... our Seaside Summer Holiday ornament captures the essence of a Victorian Sunday spent down the shore. Our original design, this exquisite jewel is meticulously hand-crafted in our Ridgewood atelier. Soaring above a Dresden-trimmed blown glass scallop shell, the swirling spire of silver Steifkantille is accented with frosted glass beads. Made using both old-style and vintage materials, the scrap children on each ornament are genuine antiques which date to the 1880's. And even the tiny blown glass beads which top the waves of salt spray at each child's feet are rare, thin-walled crystal pearls which were made in the 19th C. in Lauscha, Germany. 6¼" high. Gift boxed.
