Remember when foil-covered chocolates and toy villages from Europe came in wire netting bags? Still woven in Austria of super-fine wire, this metallic mesh tubing is a unique, old-time trimming. Delicate in appearance, yet surprisingly sturdy, this stretchy wire mesh is wonderful for creating all manner of decorations, from Christmas ornaments and fancy candy bags to custom baby shower and wedding favors. Mesh tubing is 2½" wide.

In the article "Blue and Silver Precious Favors," on page 36 of the Winter 2006 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, our silver knit mesh tubing was used to make the darling wedding favor candy bags pictured. This old-time Leonian wire mesh tubing is another of Blümchen's unique finds! Back in 1994, at the famous Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany, we showed a small sample of vintage mesh tubing to a representative of a family-owned Austrian trimmings firm. One of the owners was kind enough to entertain our request, and remembered that his company had, at one time, manufactured a woven wire trim exactly like our sample. They agreed to produce a custom run for us, and so it happened that this traditional Leonian wire mesh tubing is once again a popular trim with artisans and home crafters alike!
