Trompe l'oiel "candy" eggs from the 1960's, these vintage papier-mâché eggs are festive, collectible candy containers. Made of pressed cardboard, the eggs are covered with embossed confectionery foils and accented with ribbon bows. Made more than forty years ago, the printed lining paper inside each egg box reads "Made in Western-Germany". Still in very good, unused condition, the egg boxes are 3½" high.
* Good news! We thought that these eggs were sold out, but we found a few boxes tucked under the eaves in the attic here at Chestnut Cottage. The eggs which are available are silver foil with light blue bows.
