Handcrafted in Germany by a small, family-run workshop, this big bunny is created in the same fashion as candy container rabbits of the early 1900's. And just like antique rabbits, his head lifts off so that you can fill the hollow body with treats. The rabbit is made of two pressed cardboard halves which are stapled together, then covered with papier-mâché to give him realistic detailing. Hand painted in naturalistic colors, he has amber brown glass eyes. Wearing a silky ribbon bow on his gold passementerie collar, the wicker basket is filled with paper grass and three spun cotton eggs. Rabbit is 10" high. Presentation packaged for Easter gifting.
