Still produced in Germany by the original manufacturer, the lantern is made of embossed, die-cut black cardboard panels backed with colorfully-printed paper inserts. Designed in the 1930's, this classic light-up lantern even comes complete with a pronged tin candle holder affixed to the base, but for safety reasons you may want light it with an electric bulb. 15" in diameter when flat, just pick it up by its metal wire hanger and it pops open into a five-sided, 9" high by 11" wide decoration.
