Charming Child Egg ~

The egg box was painted using Folk Art® Acrylic Paint #651 Metallic Blue Topaz. We decorated the egg starting with the Dresden trims on the box edges; this makes it much easier to properly judge the exact center of the egg when applying a framed image. First, glue down the Deco Leaf Banding border to neaten the edges of the box. Next, glue on the Eastlake Festoon Dresden border, first cutting it narrower to just the "points" section. The final edging trim is the Petite Fleur-de-Lis, which is glued down so that it just touches the straight banding border and lies atop of the Eastlake Festoon border. This gives the sides of the egg a look which is quite intricate and rich-looking. T decorate the top of the egg, glue down the scrap picture, then the Dresden Oval Beaded Frame. Apply a Delicate Floral Frame scrap so that it curves around the Dresden Frame, and finally finish off the outer frame edge using the Petite Fleur-de-Lis trim. Cut eighteen daisies from the Teeny-Tiny Daisies border and glue between the points of the border edging trim; the final daisy decorated the frame.

Easter Fantasy Cherubs Egg ~
This charming egg is actually quite easy to craft! First, paint the egg with a light mauve-pink acrylic paint color. Next, coat the egg with an even dusting of our "Pixie Dust" powdered mica sparkles. When dry, shake and brush off the excess mica. Trim the edges of the egg using the Deco Leaf Banding border first. The second trim used was the double-pointed style from the Fancy Borders Assortment in white. Cut the trim in half, using one piece for each half of the egg box, and glue down the straight edge so that it touches the first border. Lastly, glue down a different Easter cherubs scrap on each side of the egg.

Pretty Pansy Egg ~
This egg was painted with a combination of two Folk Art® Acrylic Paints: we mixed #659 Metallic Pearl White with #676 Metallic Inca Gold to create the light yellow hue. Use the Dresden oval frame as a guide to mark the center of the egg; trace lightly with a pencil. Fill in this center oval (and about 1/4" past it) with the Metallic Pearl White paint. Next, we trimmed the side edges of the egg. The first Dresden trim we glued down was the Lacy Festooning border. The second edging trim was created by gluing together the double-pointed trim style of both the gold and white Fancy Borders Assortment borders. We staggered the points so that this new bi-color trimming has a gold-white-gold-white pattern. When dry, cut down the center of the new trim (we used a ruler and knife to give it a clean, straight edge). Glue this new trim over top of the previous Dresden border, adjusting it so that it lies just above the serrated edge of the Lacy Festooning. To decorate the top of the egg, glue down the Dresden oval frame, being careful to keep the shape even. This frame will have to be cut and slightly overlapped to position it nicely on the egg. Glue in the Teeny-Tiny Daisies Border so that it also forms an evenly-shaped oval. The final step is to glue on the pansy or a favorite flower scrap; make sure to trim the scrap so that it creates a pleasing silhouette.

Running Rabbit Egg ~
To make this pearlized, pale lilac color, we mixed three different colors of Folk Art® Acrylic Paints: #654 Metallic Amethyst, #659 Metallic Pearl White and #670 Metallic Pearl Blue. After painting the egg, the running rabbit scrap picture was glued on first. Next, we glued on a strip of scrap from the Flower Garland Borders to cover the bottom edge of the rabbit image. A second strip of flower border was glued on so that it filled in the gap at the bottom of the egg and overlapped the first row of flowers. Lastly, we cut small pieces of the flower garland scrap and placed them on either side of the rabbit to create the effect that it is running through a meadow. To decorate the side edges of the egg, we first glued down the Deco Leaf Banding border to neaten the box edges. Just touching that trim, we next glued a strip of our custom-made gold and white points border. This was created by gluing together the double-pointed trim style of both the gold and white Fancy Borders Assortment borders. We staggered the points so that this new bi-color trimming has a gold-white-gold-white pattern. When dry, cut down the center of the new trim (we used a ruler and knife to give it a straight edge) and it is ready to be glued to the egg.

Jesus Christ Sanctus Dei Egg ~
The egg box was first painted using a dark green acrylic paint color. Use the Dresden rectangular frame as a guide to mark the center of the egg; trace lightly with a pencil. Fill in this center section (and about 1/8" past it) with an antique blue paint color. To decorate the egg, we first prepared the border used to trim the edges of the box by cutting it down in height. Use the Classic Tassel Fringe border, and cut away the tassels. The flat side of the Dresden trim should then be glued around the edge of the box. Next, glue down the Fancy Points border so that its points face up and its lower edge touches the crenellated top of the first Dresden border. Position the scrap image so that it will be centered nicely within the gilt frame to create the effect of an Old Master painting. We glued on the frame by pasting down the sides first, then cut through the corners diagonally to more easily position the top and bottom of the frame so that they are nice and straight. The Dresden frame was finished by the added embellishments of the corners added to the top and sides; tiny silver daisies from the Teeny-Tiny Daisies border were added to each frame corner.
